2 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
3/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. melted butter
1/2 c. buttermilk

Add all above. Add only enough buttermilk to make a stiff mixture. Make into balls. Drop in hot oil until golden brown.
