APPLE CRUMB CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 lb. sweet butter, soft
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 lbs. tart apples, peeled, sliced & sprinkled with 1 to 2 tbsp. sugar & lemon juice

Mix flour, sugar, butter, baking soda well and set aside. In a 7 1/2 inch square pan sprinkle half the crumbs. Place apples evenly. Cover with crumbs. Bake until golden brown in a 350 degree oven.
