1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. peanut butter
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture. Make into small balls (about the size of a walnut). Roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
