AUSTRIAN JAM COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg (separated)
1 1/4 c. flour

Refrigerate 1 hour. Roll 1 teaspoon dough into ball and dip into beaten egg white, roll in chopped nuts, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make indentation and fill with apricot, peach, strawberry or grape jam.

Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
