VERMONT APPLE SLAW 
1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
4 c. cabbage, shredded
2 c. chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. raisins
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Combine first 3 items. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients and chill. I like to use Savoy cabbage for this salad but any variety can be used.
