HOT MULLED CIDER 
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 qts. cider
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 1/2 tsp. whole cloves
2 sticks cinnamon
Orange slices (optional)

Put all ingredients in a crockpot. Spices can be left loose or placed in cheesecloth or tea strainer. Cover and set on low temperature for 2-8 hours. The longer it cooks the more the aroma from the cider will drift through your home.

(Wine can be used in place of the cider, 2/5's sweet cherry or port wine in place of cider.)
