PINEAPPLE DATE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 (#1) can crushed pineapple with juice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. dates, chopped
1/2 c. nuts

Beat eggs; add sugar and beat. Add rest of ingredients (I add a little more juice). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour in loaf pan.
