CHOCOLATE NUT BREAD PUDDING 
6 slices day old bread
4 c. milk
1/3 c. cocoa
3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnut pieces

Cut bread into cubes. Combine milk, cocoa, butter and sugar in saucepan and heat until butter and cocoa blend with milk. Beat eggs and salt slightly, then slowly pour hot mixture over eggs, stirring constantly. Stir in vanilla, walnuts and bread cubes; let stand 15 minutes. Bake in buttered dish at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until knife inserted comes out clean. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
