OATMEAL CARAMEL BARS 
1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
24 vanilla caramels (7 oz.)
2 tbsp. milk

In large mixing bowl beat butter at high speed for 30 seconds. Add 1 cup flour, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and baking soda. Beat until combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats.

Press 3 1/3 cups of dough into ungreased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and nuts.

In medium saucepan combine caramels and milk. Cook over low heat until melted. Drizzle over chocolate and nuts. Drop remaining 1/3 dough by teaspoon over the top. Bake at 350 degrees over 25 minutes or until top is light brown. Makes about 60 bars. Freeze well.
