1 HOUR BUTTERMILK ROLLS 
1/2 c. warm water
2 pkgs. yeast
1/4 c. melted shortening
1 1/2 c. lukewarm buttermilk
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. sugar

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Add lukewarm buttermilk, sugar, and shortening. Sift flour, soda and salt. Beat until smooth, let stand 10 minutes. Roll out and shape. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned in 400 degree oven.
