NAVY BEAN SOUP 
1/2 c. navy beans
1/4 c. chopped ham
2 tbsp. diced carrots
1 tomato, diced
2 qts. water
2 tbsp. diced celery
2 tbsp. diced onion
Salt & pepper to taste

Soak beans in water several hours or overnight. Bring the beans to boil, reduce heat and simmer until almost tender. Add ham, vegetables and tomato. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper. Serves 6.
