MAYONNAISE CAKE 
1 c. hot water
1 c. pitted dates
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine hot water with dates and let stand 5 minutes. Add baking soda. Cream mayonnaise with sugar. Sift together dry ingredients. Mix cream mixture with dates and dry ingredients. Fold in nuts and vanilla. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes.
