BEAN SOUP | |
1 lb. dry beans (Northern, Pinto or Navy) 2 1/2 qts. water 1 to 2 slices bacon 1 can canned tomatoes (med. or lg. can) 1 lg. onion 2 tsp. salt or salt to taste 1 tsp. chili powder Sort and wash beans. Soak overnight. Drain. Add ingredients to a crock pot. Cook all day or night. (Water may be adjusted for thickness.) Before serving, mash beans with a potato masher. |
