OLD FASHIONED (PLAIN) MACARONI
AND CHEESE
 
1/2 pkg. macaroni, cooked and drained
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
3 c. milk
Salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 c. grated cheese (cheddar)

Blend butter and flour over medium heat, adding milk gradually, stirring constantly until thickened. Add 2/3 of the cheese and when melted, pour over the macaroni which has been put into a greased casserole. Sprinkle remainder of cheese on top and bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned. May use tomatoes instead of white sauce.
