FALL OF THE BONE JIM BEAM SPARE RIBS | |
1 rack spare ribs 1 tbsp. lime juice 1/2 cup Jim Beam 1/2 cup orange-peach-mango juice (Dole) 1 (18 oz.) bottle Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce (or your choice) 1 tsp. chili powder 1/2 cup brown sugar Preheat oven to slow (250°F). Lay ribs into deep baking pan and remove membrane and remove some fat. Pour lime juice directly onto meat (it helps clean the meat). Mix Jim Beam, fruit juice, barbecue sauce, chili powder and brown sugar in a bowl. Pour mixture over ribs. Place in 250°F oven and cook for 3 hours and they will literally fall off the bone. Or you can cook them in the oven for 2 1/2 hours then transfer them to a hot gill, brushing sauce onto ribs while they cook to give the outside a crispy texture while the insides will still be super tender.
