FILLED DANISH PUFF 
BOTTOM LAYER:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
2 tbsp. water

Cut shortening into flour, add water. Divide dough into 2 strips (3 x 13) on ungreased cookie sheet.

TOP LAYER:

1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. almond flavor
1 c. flour
3 eggs
1 c. water

Mix shortening and water; bring to a boil. Add flavoring. Remove from heat. Stir in flour until smooth; add 1 egg at a time, beat until smooth. Spread over first layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

FILLING:

2 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar

Cook 2 tablespoons flour and milk until thick. Cool. Beat butter for 2 minutes, add butter and beat 2 minutes, add sugar and beat 2 minutes; add cooled flour paste and beat 2 minutes. Cut pastry lengthwise add filling, replace top pastry. Frost with powdered sugar frosting and slivered almonds.
