PUNCH BOWL CAKE 
2 cake layers (cake mix or from recipe to follow)
1 large pkg. vanilla instant pudding (mix according to directions on box plus 1/2 cup milk)
1 large can cherry or strawberry pie filling
1 cup chopped nuts
1 large cool whip
1 large can crushed pineapple, drained

Crumble 1 cake layer into bottom of punch bowl. Layer 1/2 of all ingredients on crumbled cake. Repeat with second layer. Optional: garnish with sliced bananas (soaked in pineapple juice) and maraschino cherries.

Cake Layers:

1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
1 cup milk
2 eggs
2 cup self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, oil and 1/2 cup of milk. Add eggs one at a time and 1 cup of flour. Add 1/2 cup of milk, vanilla and 1 cup of flour.

Bake at 350°F for 20 -25 minutes.
