KHEER 
5 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. basmati rice
1 1/2 tbsp. almonds, peeled and sliced
6 or 8 whole cardamon, peeled and powdered
2 or 3 drops of Rose Essence

Bring to boil, milk on medium heat, constantly stirring to avoid lumps, add rice and almonds and cook for about 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens. Add the remaining ingredients and turn off the heat. Mix well. May be served warm or chilled.
