AUNT JO'S NO NAME CANDY | |
1 c. butter or half butter 1 c. sugar 3 tbsp. water 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts giant size Hershey chocolate bar Mix first 3 ingredients in heavy saucepan and cook until 300°F on candy thermometer, stirring constantly. Do not rush boiling and be careful not to burn. Immediately take off heat and add vanilla. Quickly pour into buttered 9 x 9 pan. Lay chocolate bar on top and spread over all as it melts. Sprinkle nuts on top. Cool until set. Break into serving size pieces. |
