CARAMEL BARS 
1 lb. pkg. caramels
8 tbsp. milk
1 1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/4 c. oatmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Melt caramels and milk in saucepan. Cream butter and brown sugar. Stir in flour, soda, salt and oatmeal. Mix well. Put 1/2 mixture into 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Remove from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour melted caramel over chocolate chips and top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 15 minutes longer. Then cut into bars.
