OATMEAL MOLASSES RAISIN BREAD | |
3 c. rolled oats 2 tbsp. oil 1 c. molasses 2 pkgs. dry yeast 2 tsp. salt 1 c. raisins 4 c. boiling water 1/2 c. warm water 7-8 c. flour (4 c. whole wheat, 4 c. unbleached white flour) Stir first 6 ingredients together and set aside until lukewarm. Soften yeast in warm water and add to warm oat mixture. Add flour a few cups at a time until dough is very stiff. (Add a little more flour if necessary.) Cover, let rise until double in bulk. Punch down; cut into 3 equal portions. Shape into loaves and put into greased pans. Cover and rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. |
