CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt

Cream the powdered sugar and butter. Add egg. Stir in flavorings. Add sifted flour with cream of tartar and baking soda. Add salt. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.

Dough can be rolled and cut into shapes or made into balls and pressed with a fork.

Bake at 350°F 10 to 12 minutes.
