HOLIDAY PECAN BARS | |
CRUST: 1/3 c. softened butter 1/2 c. (packed) brown sugar 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder TOPPING: 2 eggs, beaten 3/4 c. dark corn syrup 1/4 c. (packed) light brown sugar 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 c. chopped pecans Crust: Cream 1/3 cup softened butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, blending until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Press mixture into bottom of a well greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Topping: Combine eggs, corn syrup, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla flavoring. Pour over previously baked crust. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over mixture. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool before cutting into bars. |
