BLUEBERRY BARS 
3 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/4 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. almond extract

FILLING:

2 c. blueberries
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour

Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in the shortening. Add eggs, orange juice and extract. Roll out 1/2 of dough and spread in a 11x15 size pan.

Cook the blueberries, flour and sugar until thick. Spread this filling over the dough in pan. Roll other 1/2 of dough and cover the filling. Bake 350 degrees, 45 minutes.

Dough is easier to work with if chilled a little. I patted the dough in bottom and dropped spoons of it on the blueberry mixture.
