MICROWAVE BROWNIES | |
1/2 c. butter 1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1/3 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. unsifted flour Combine butter and chocolate in 1-quart glass Mix 'n Pour bowl. Microwave on high uncovered 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted; stirring once. Blend sugar thoroughly. Beat in egg; blend in vanilla. Add dry ingredients and nuts; stir until blended. Spoon into 7-inch square plastic pan; spread evenly. Microwave, uncovered, 4 to 4 1/2 minutes or until no longer doughy, rotating pan once or twice. Do not over cook. Cool, cut into squares. TIPS: If desired, cool and frost with favorite frosting. I sprinkle Hershey's milk chocolate chips on top while hot, when softened, gently spread. If desired, stir in 1/4 cup miniature chocolate chips with the flour and nuts. If you must use an 8-inch square glass baking dish, place dish on overturned saucer in the oven. Increase time to 5 to 5 1/2 minutes. I make this often. Simple, quick, small and good. I use the plastic pan as I tried the microwave brownies when they first came out and saved the pan. 16 squares, 135 calories each. |
