PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 cup shortening
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 pkgs. chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream shortening and peanut butter in bowl. Add sugars gradually and mix well. Stir in eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Chill dough in refrigerator.

Shape into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork, dipped in flour.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes or until light brown. Cool on wire rack.

Yields 6 dozen.
