CAROL'S DESSERT SQUARES 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 can (Solo) apricot dessert filling (best flavor)

Cream butter and sugar well. Add egg yolk then stir in flour and nuts. Divide dough in half. Put half of filling onto ungreased 9"x13" glass baking dish. Spread canned filling atop dough, then crumble remaining dough half atop fruit filling and gently pat down. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool, cut into bars. Best when served next day.
