BLACKBERRY CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. berries, drained
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. each cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Beat well. Add soda and spices to flour. Add buttermilk, then flour mixture. Beat in berries. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. This makes 3 layers in 9 or 8 inch pans.
