CABBAGE SOUP 
1-2 sm. heads cabbage
1-2 lb. lean ground meat
1-2 bay leaves
Dash thyme
1 med. onion, diced
1 med. green bell pepper, diced
4-6 med. potatoes, diced
6-8 carrots, diced
6-8 qt. water

Saute onions, spices, and pepper until tender. Add meat; crumble. Shred cabbage and add to 6-8 quarts water. Cook until tender. Add meat, onion, pepper mixture. Simmer over low heat 1/2 to 1 hour or until potatoes are carrots are tender.
