BOILED COLE SLAW | |
1 head cabbage 1 sm. onion 1 c. grated carrots 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco oil 1/2 c. cider vinegar 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar In large bowl toss cabbage and vegetables together and sprinkle the 3/4 cup sugar over the mixture (set aside). In med. saucepan combine oil, vinegar, and seasoning and sugar. Bring mixture to boil and pour over cabbage. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. |
