BRAIDED ONION BREAD 
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. warm water
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 envelope onion soup mix
2 tbsp. butter
6 1/2 c. flour

Sprinkle yeast and 1/4 cup water in bowl. Mix everything together except flour. Add flour gradually and knead on floured board. Raise covered until double in bulk and punch down. Divide in half. Cut each half in 3 pieces and braid and put both loaves on the same sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
