SOUR CREAM COOKIES 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. thick sour cream
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream the shortening. Add the sugar gradually and cream well. Add salt, vanilla and unbeaten eggs and beat well. Add sour cream alternately with the sifted dry ingredients and chill 1 hour. Roll dough thin and cut with floured cookie cutter. Place on oiled cookie sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake until light brown at 400 degrees, approximately 10 minutes. Yield: 6 dozen.
