3 egg yolks 1 whole egg 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. powdered sugar 1 tbsp. rum flavoring or rum 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. flour Beat egg yolks, egg and salt until very stiff (about 10 minutes). Blend in sugar and flavorings. Add flour all at once; mix well. Knead on floured surface, about 7 minutes, until blistered. Divide dough in half and roll out very thin. Cut into diamond shapes and slit in center and pull end through. Deep fry at 370 degrees until light brown. Put on brown paper bags to drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool. |
