TEXAS PECAN PIE 
1 c. white corn syrup
1 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 heaping c. pecan halves
1 (9") pie shell, unbaked

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine syrup, sugar, salt, butter and vanilla; mix well. Add eggs. Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle pecans over all. If time allows, arrange pecans neatly in circles on top of pie. Bake for 45-55 minutes. (Sharp knife inserted in pie should come out clean.)
