WHISKEY BALLS 
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter

Mix and cream well; add:

4 eggs, slightly beaten, add to above mixture
3-4 tbsp. buttermilk
3 tsp. baking soda (scant)
3 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg
5-6 oz. whiskey (alcohol will cook out)
1 1/2 lbs. candied cherries
1 1/2 lbs. candied pineapple, chopped
1 box dates, cut up
1 box white raisins

Combine flour, fruit, nuts and other ingredients; mix well. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 325 degree oven for about 10-15 minutes. Store in air-tight container with half an apple - will stay moist.
