EXTRA RICH CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. shortening or butter
2 c. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and buttermilk together. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix. When well mixed, add boiling water and vanilla. Blend well. Pour into 10-inch greased tube pan. Bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

EXTRA RICH CHOCOLATE CAKE CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Bring to boil and boil for 2 minutes. Take off heat and stir until cool. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla. Pour over cake.
