OLD FASHIONED SEVEN LAYER CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs. Cream that and add buttermilk, flour and vanilla. Beat together. Cook in 6 or 7 layers at 350°F until done.

Icing:

1 c. Carnation milk
2 c. sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa
1 stick butter
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients in blender, then cook over slow heat and boil for 6 minutes. May add nuts, if desired.
