COMPANY BEEF STEW 
3 lb. beef chunks, 1 inch
3 lg. fresh carrots, sliced
3/4 bag or 16 oz. can tiny onions
1 (16 oz.) can tiny peas
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes with juice
1/2 can beef consomme
1/2 c. white wine
4 lg. tbsp. tapioca
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. prepared bread crumbs
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste

Use a Dutch oven as roasting pan with cover. Cover and bake at 250 degree oven for 6-7 hours. Need not touch it for entire baking time. Meat, beautifully brown, gravy perfect. Good over rice. Serves 6.
