DECADENT FUDGE CAKE
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
2 (4 oz.) bars of chocolate
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 oz. white chocolate, chopped
2 tbsp. & 2 tsp. shortening, divided
Chocolate & white chocolate leaves, optional
1 c. chocolate syrup

Cream butter. Add sugar until thoroughly mixed. Add eggs, one at a time. Continue to beat well after adding each. Combine buttermilk and soda. Mix thoroughly and then add to butter mixture alternately with flour. Add melted chocolate, chocolate syrup and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Stir in 1 cup of chips.

Pour batter into a heavily greased and floured 10 inch Bundt pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean). After removing from the oven, invert immediately and allow to cool on rack or plate.

Combine white chocolate and 2 tablespoons of shortening in either double boiler or microwave. Bring to a boil stirring frequently. Remove from heat or microwave and drizzle mixture over cooled cake. Garnish with chocolate and white chocolate leaves, if desired. Makes 1 (10 inch) cake.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
