SOUP `N FLEISCH 
2-3 lb. flanken
4-5 qt. water
Long packet vegetable soup mix (dried)
(Contains beans, barley, split pea)
5 med. carrots
2 stalks celery
2 med. onions
2 cubed potatoes
Raw crushed garlic
Salt to taste

Grate carrots, celery and onions. Cover flanken with water; bring to boil for 2 minutes and change water. Bring fresh water to boil with flanken. Add dried soup mix. Cook for 1/2 hour. Add grated vegetables on low flame, cook for at least 1 hour.

Then add garlic powder or raw garlic. Salt to taste and add potatoes. Cook for 10-15 minutes more. Serve with bread as a meal in one. Variation: Frozen vegetables may be added: Peas, corn, carrots, medley or fresh broccoli and cauliflower.
