RITZ CRACKER TORTE 
6 egg whites
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
40 Ritz crackers
1 c. chopped nuts

Beat egg whites gradually add sugar and beat thoroughly fold in coarsely broken crackers. Fold in nuts. Spread in buttered 9 x 13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degree oven 30 minutes. Cool. Thaw strawberries drain juices should reserve 1 cup and add cornstarch to juice. Cook until thick, add berries, cool. Then spread berries over baked crackers. Cherry pie filling may also be used instead of strawberries.
