FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 med. can fruit cocktail
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together flour and fruit cocktail, including syrup. Add remaining ingredients. Mix; pour into greased 10 x 10 inch pan. Sprinkle on top 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 cup walnuts. Bake 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Test for doneness.

TOPPING:

2 sticks butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1 sm. can evaporated milk

Melt together all ingredients and pour over hot cake.
