SESAME SEED COAKEES (CHINA) 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted shortening (cool)
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp. water
Sesame seeds

Put sifted flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Make a well in center of mixture and add next 3 ingredients; mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls, and put on cookie sheets, press flat with hands. Brush cookies with egg yolk beaten with water; sprinkle with seeds. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
