COUNTRY KITCHEN CUSTARD PIE | |
9 inch unbaked pie shell 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded 1 tsp. vanilla 4 eggs 2/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. light cream, scalded 1/2 tsp. nutmeg Beat eggs slightly before adding rest of ingredients. Pour scalded milk and cream slowly into egg mixture. Pour into well chilled pie crust. Sprinkle nutmeg over top. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until knife inserted comes out clean when inserted 1-inch from edge of pie crust. Cool on rack for 30 minutes - then refrigerate. |
