GRANDMA'S CUT-OUT COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix sugar and butter; add egg and flavorings; mix. Mix dry ingredients together; blend in. Refrigerate dough 2 or 3 hours.

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Divide dough in half. Roll dough 3/16-inch thick on floured board. Cut with floured cookie cutter. Place on lightly greased sheet. Bake 7-8 minutes until golden brown. Makes 5 dozen.
