ASPARAGUS CANAPES | |
1 reg. size loaf white bread (Wonder is fine) 1 can asparagus (whole piece, not tips) 8 oz. Roquefort cheese 8 oz. cream cheese 1 tbsp. mayonnaise 1 egg, beaten Butter (at least 1 stick) Cut off the crusts on the bread, then roll bread out flat. Mix together the 2 cheeses, mayonnaise, and egg. Spread the mixture on the flatten bread. Top with 1 stalk of asparagus per slice and roll up. Cut the rolled bread and asparagus in 3 pieces. Dip each piece into melted butter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until brown. They may be made and frozen to use at a later date. There is enough cheese mixture for 2 cans of asparagus and 2 loaves of bread. |
