FRENCH ONION SOUP 
6-8 onions, chopped
1 stick butter (more, if needed)

Saute chopped onions in butter until tender. Add boiling water until onions are well covered. Add 4-6 bouillon cubes (or to taste). Simmer about 1 hour. Pour soup in serving bowls. Add 1 slice French bread to each and add lots of Mozzarella cheese. Put in oven to melt cheese.

Delicious! If you have any ham juice or leftover ham pieces, it adds a delightful flavor.
