HOT PEPPER IN TOMATO SAUCE 
1 1/2 gals. peppers, mixed hot and sweet
1 lg. (44 oz.) catsup
1 tbsp. salt
2 c. sugar
2 c. vinegar
1 c. Crisco oil

Put pepper and oil in skillet or large pan and wilt. Combine other ingredients and boil 5 minutes. Pour over peppers. Simmer until tender. Pack in sterilized jars. Process in water bath 10-15 minutes. About 9 pints.
