SPICED APPLES 
4 apples
1 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. red hots candies
1/4 c. chopped pecans

Wash, pare and core apples. Place apples in a pan in which sugar, water and candies have dissolved to form a syrup. Cover and cook gently until tender; turn apples occasionally, being careful to retain shape. Remove apples to serving dish. Pour syrup over them. Sprinkle chopped pecans over apples for garnish.
