DUMPLINGS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. ice water

Mix flour and salt and add shortening. Cut in until completely mixed. Add water a little at a time until dough sticks together. Roll on floured surface into a thin sheet. Cut in strips and add to gently boiling broth. These dumplings can be used anytime you have a meat or vegetable broth.
